Question about HTC Vive Cosmos

HTC Vive Cosmos is slowly getting into gear with the latest software updates and has already been significantly improved since it went on sale. One question, what is the button on the left side of the headset for (Headset Button?) I haven't found out the function yet and would be grateful for a hint.

When I press it, the image of the outdoor cameras is switched on, but I don't know whether you have to switch it on somewhere. It is so that you don't always have to take off your glasses when you want to do something in real life, have a quick drink or look for the controller if you have put it somewhere.

This is the controller for the IPD adjustement.
