Question about Sigma 20mm F1,4 DG DN Art Sony-E

How to explain price hike from 944 to 1435? In the US, it will be available for 899, so 944 sounds about right with conversion and tax etc. Also on Wednesday (or Thursday morning, not sure now when I have looked), three lenses were available for 944 to get the next day. I have almost ordered, but was distracted by something, and now all of a sudden it is 1435 and the sales start on Aug 26th. No question for me about ordering it now. Were these some test copies that were immediately sold?

1435 Fr. is the RRP of the Swiss importer. It is always so absurdly high. They probably smoke some really nasty herb there in Zofingen. This is the case with every new Sigma lens. The importer has also commented here and said that they no longer want to set UVPs in the future. But they still do. So just buy the Sony FE 20 f1.8 G or wait another 6 months. Then the price will also be lower.
