How scratch-resistant is the display surface? Is it made of plastic or Corning glass? That is not clear from the description.

I have also had the device for a few days. I accidentally had a metal object in the same trouser pocket. Now it has some fine scratches. These do not bother me. Even before I bought it, I read that the display is extremely well protected against breakage, but the scratch resistance is on the same level as most other devices (perfectly fine).

A very thick film is mounted as the top layer (clearly visible at the two recesses at the bottom for the loudspeaker and microphone). As far as I know, this can also be replaced by motorola, but no one is likely to make use of it. The scratch resistance is therefore probably comparable to that of a conventional corning glass with a plastic film from the accessories trade.

I have had the device for a few days. Of course, I don't want to risk scratches. In some tests, the scratch resistance is criticised, but after tests in which the editors dropped the device on hard surfaces to test the promised resistance to breakage. My feeling is that it is in the same league as the other devices on the market in terms of scratches. However, Motorola explicitly gives a 4-year warranty for such cases for the two outer layers (the hard scratch-resistant and the soft drop-resistant). The outer layer is definitely glass (according to the tests in the USA), but I can't say from which manufacturer.
