How many screens can you attach at the same time and use independently? Is the device compatible with MacBook Pros (2016+) and macOS?

Attention regarding the physical connections
You can attach up to two 4K displays. It is compatible with all MacBook Pros with (USB-C). Note that the MacBook 12" does not have Thunderbolt and is therefore not compatible.
The unit is currently used with a MacBook Pro 2016 and MacOS Mojave (without any problems). An external monitor is connected; I do not know whether other monitors can be operated independently.
