How does the valve prevent dust particles from being sucked in? Can the valve also prevent viruses from getting in?

Viruses get in there, of course. The problem is that they find a paradisiacal environment in the bellows. They can multiply unhindered. This often leads to uncontrollable mutations.

Not a medical product, so very likely not.
This is not a filtered bellows. There are filtered bellows. For example, the Orbit Hepa Blower. I have only used this for years. Very practical, especially for the sensor.
