how can i tell that i really have the new version (received today) the v650n and not the old one? is there nothing on the device etc?
Yes, that's right, it doesn't say that anywhere on the device. The V650 N has new packaging and new software with Strava Live and extended power functions. The software would also be available for all V650s as a free update according to Polar.
