Hi, I wanted to install the Alexa app on Android according to the instructions, but Google Play says "this item is not available in your country". What now?
Unfortunately, Switzerland is a blank spot on the map for Amazon. However, with the tips linked above (create a new Amazon account with a fictitious German address + sideload the Alexa app), most things still work.
The following tips:
- Alexa app is only in English on your system ? -> simply change the system language in the smartphone from German (Switzerland) to German (Germany), and it will be in German.
- Alternatively, you can also use the web interface instead of the app: https://alexa.amazon.de/
- Unfortunately, Amazon Music does not work. You need a German credit card, and even then I'm not sure if there are any country restrictions that limit the use of the app. I use Spotify instead. But you need a German Amazon account as described above.
In general, I am thrilled with the possibilities of Alexa and the little round thing is now my main music player in all important rooms.
Small please yet:
Amazon already has a Swiss telephone hotline. It's best to call everyone there (preferably several times) and let them know that we here in Switzerland would like to use their products and services regularly. Maybe something will happen if only enough people call and bug them ;-))
You can also download the Alexa app from third-party sites. To do this, you must set the option "Unknown sources" in the device settings (this is usually asked for when installing new Android versions). You can find the current version of Amazon Alexa via Google "Alexa APK" or here: http://www.apkmonk.com/app...
The apps can still only be installed via a diversion, but... You can also set up the Dot via any web browser on your PC or laptop. It works very easily for me.
Please call the hotline in the USA.
+1 206 266 2992, you will be connected to Alexa develpment support, they will decide... Call everyone đ
I bought a Sonos One with integrated Alexa. It's not usable. The hassle with the German Appstore and linking to Sonos. I would never buy it again. Google Home is much better, but still not really good!
If you want the Alexa app on iOS, simply create a German Apple ID. Create a German PayPal account. Enter your CH credit card and select PayPal as the payment method for your Apple ID. And now you can easily download the Alexa App from the Appstore. Happy holidays
Have the Echo devices been released by Amazon for Switzerland?
Alexa now works in Switzerland, i.e. you can install the Alexa app at least on the iPhone. Unfortunately, the connection with Sonos still does not work. Sonos points out that Alexa is not available in 'your country'. Which is obviously not true.
Fabulous. Amazon produces a device that you can't use in Switzerland... which countries are still excluded - and - who/what is behind it?
So I have now tried many things here that you have written down but unfortunately nothing works. I don't know what I'm not doing right. is anyone near rapperswil sg and can do it for me? I'm slowly going crazy!!!!
I download the latest version of the Alexa app from APKpure (Android)...
A small tip for all those who want to use the Alexa app in Switzerland and also want to have an automatic update. Search on Google for the app "Aptoide". You can also find out how to get this "unknown source" onto your Android on Google. With this app you can download the Alexa app in Switzerland and it will also be automatically updated to the latest version.
Aptoide is a kind of black market app and you install it on your own responsibility.
In the meantime, the Alex app has been expanded with several functions. Works perfectly with Aptoide.
I have the Echo dot and many things work perfectly. Recently, it is possible to enter a CH address in the app and the weather query for home is possible without specifying a location. Connecting / listening to my audiobook library also went without a hitch. It's a pity that the app is still not available in Switzerland. For example, I am not sure whether my app is updated or whether calls are possible (not in my opinion).
But an extremely patented little device that helps me cook, fall asleep and cheers me up or is there for me when I have questions.
Does anyone know when Alexa will officially work in Switzerland? Funnily enough, Liechtenstein is available in the country selection.
@Brimstone: Thank you very much, the download from "apkmonk" as described worked tiptop!
I received an Echo as a gift from a friend in London. Attempts to download the Alexa app worked by logging into the Mac App Store under English name and address/phone. However, as soon as I log out again, nothing works.
SO MY QUESTION: Amazon has blocked the sale in Switzerland, or had to block it, because some federal agency in Bern does not issue a licence? Am I right? Can anyone tell me which office this could be?
I now have echo dot. But before that I bought the google home mini:) Alexa german k.p. have amazon acc anyway. disappointing: location setting not possible, only austria and germany in the list. With the two speakers well prepared for more. Still waiting for the Xperia hello. And waiting for google and alexa to come along as well:)
Can anyone help me? I have downloaded the alexa app on the link from brimstone, but I get the message: no cloud access! As soon as I accept the terms. I can't log in with the computer either, because it "logs me out" again immediately.
This is also only in English?
Thanks for sharing excellent informations. Your website is very cool. I am impressed by the details that youâve on this website. It reveals how nicely you perceive this subject. Bookmarked this website page. https://1apk.co/amazon-ale...
Can anyone tell me exactly how to get to the latest app on my i phone please detailed description please.
Or at least on Android.
Thanks
the whole thing is rubbish as long as it doesn't work properly fingers off it
so the question of whether the echo has been released for CH also interests me... why should i buy a device that i can't fully use in my country? and why should amazon sell such a device with limited performance in a country and thus destroy their market through dissatisfied customers?
makes no sense!
would someone from galaxus answer please?
