Hi, I wanted to ask if it would be worth buying this graphics card. I have a fhd 240hz monitor and I want to be able to use it like this. So i wanted to ask if i can get to 1080p ultra around 240fps with this card. I was able to buy a nvidia rtx 4060 ti 16gb original from digitec for 380.-, which is a good deal in itself. However, asus has the 80.- cashback so I would only have to pay 460.- for a rx 7800 xt! Should I make this change as my pc is still relatively new?

Helpful answer

Basically, the RX 7800 XT has the better benchmarks and would be an improvement on the RTX 4060 Ti. However, if ray tracing is important to you, it would not be the right choice. Then you would have to go for the RTX 4070, which again only has 12 GB of graphics memory, which is rather scarce for newer games. It is also a good deal more expensive than the RTX 4060 Ti for, let's say, a minimal improvement in the values at 1080p.

There is no general answer to this question. There are games like Cyberpunk etc. where not even a 4090 can achieve 240 fps. It's best to look at benchmarks of the games where corresponding frame rates are expected. In general, DLSS and Frame Gen work better.
I don't think it's worth making the jump this generation if you already have a 4060 Ti. In most cases, as soon as you have a mid-range graphics card, the next generation or the one after that is worthwhile.

The 7800XT will give you 30% more speed than the 4060. With any ultra you should expect around 150fps in most games. In my opinion, it's often quite possible to gain a lot of fps by choosing settings that aren't always 'ultra', without any major impact on image quality. By setting a few 'highs' instead of 'ultra' with a 7800XT, you can easily reach the 200 fps target in many games. At least in games where fps counts (e-sports, FPS).

Hi Edi
I agree with Losullus, it depends a lot on the game. It also depends on the CPU you have.
If you have a specific eSports title in mind that you're playing, I can try it out for you and tell you roughly what the fps is.
I have a ryzen 7800x3D + the ASUS TUF 7800 XT OC
