Hello, The question about the heating time was answered above with approx. 40 seconds. However, I have read that single-circuit machines (or boilermakers in general) take around 20 minutes to heat up completely and produce a good espresso. Is the manufacturer's information really realistic here?
The approx. 40s are correct. A distinction is made between boiler and instantaneous water heater systems. In this case, an instantaneous water heater is installed and water flows through a pipe every time it is used and is then heated up in this way. The boiler takes longer to heat up because it is filled with water. 40 seconds is OK, but the portafilter has to be heated up. A few empty puffs are necessary. Single-circuit or dual-circuit machines can therefore have built-in boilers and/or flow heaters and indicate whether coffee and frothing are to be done one after the other or at the same time.
