So that we understand each other correctly: There are 1/4 inch tripod threads (as on almost every camera), larger cameras such as medium format cameras or heavy lenses have 3/4 inch tripod threads. Both are external threads! There is also the 5/8 inch (Pigot) connection, which is mainly used for lights. Unfortunately I can't upload a photo here, so I have to describe it: It is a cylindrical part with a diameter of approx. 16 mm, which has a thinner cylindrical moulding on which the clamping screw grips You can see this on the picture of the connection part of the tripod. You can see the 1/4 inch threaded bolt at the top and the cylindrical part with the taper as described above below. This is the 5/8" connection. A 3/4 inch tripod thread is not (or no longer?) included with my tripod! I hope that explains your question!
