Hello The instruction manual says that the machine should be cleaned with solitabs in between. In the instructions for the solitabs I ordered, it says to insert a tab into the portafilter together with a white rondelle. Does anyone know what kind of rondelle is meant? Normally, you clean portafilter machines with a blind sieve, but Solis didn't supply one of those, nor did they supply a white rondelle...
I bought a tin of 100 Solitabs elsewhere, and it has an extra bag of flat "tabs" in it next to the tabs. I assume that these are meant by "rondelles". If you did not receive a blind filter, I would ask Solis directly.
My new machine came with a rubber insert (rondelle? However, the insert is grey), which serves as a blind sieve in combination with the single-walled double sieve.
I don't have the answer to the rondelle either, but I clean it myself as follows. Put 3/4 lukewarm water and 1/4 cleaning vinegar and 1 tablespoon of table salt into the water container. Mix everything well and put it in. Then I make one pass, wait up to an hour and make another pass. Then clean the water tank and run 2-3 times with water. This successfully dissolves any limescale, is cheaper and does not use chemicals.
Same thing with me. I did not get a grey blind sieve for the piston with this machine. The instructions only say that you should clean it with the black brush that comes with it.
