Question about Arctic Mx-4
Hello, I want to remove the thermal compound from the Wraith Prism Cooler (Ryzen 7 3700x) and put my own on it. How can I remove the thermal paste if I don't have isopropyl alcohol available?

Hello Mr Niederberger,
If you don't have any alcohol or other high-proof cleaning agents at hand, you can also clean the CPU with methylated spirits or a small shot of vodka. If vodka/whisky is too bad for you, you can also use a little eau de toilette (i.e. perfume).
I have also used window cleaner for cleaning.
Everything works tiptop. A clean cotton cloth is more important.

I use ordinary methylated spirits (approx. 96 vol% ethyl alcohol). This is also very suitable for the inexpensive production of hand disinfectant (diluted with H2O to 70-80 vol%, 1% glycerol can be added for skin care). Instead of a possibly fluffy cotton cloth, I prefer to use cosmetic paper towels.
