The Gigaset CL660HX (CH version) cannot be used simply by connecting it to a telephone line and power. It must be operated either directly via a DECT-based router (e.g. Fritz.Box or Swisscom Internet Box) or via a Gigaset base station, such as that of the Gigaset CL660.

It is therefore suitable as a second device to an existing telephone with a base station or as the main device in conjunction with a compatible router. It cannot function without one of these connection options.
