Hello together I will be moving shortly and am thinking about bringing intelligent lighting into my new flat. However, I don't know anything about this, so I have the following questions for you (I will start with my bedroom first, and later expand to the whole flat): - The product description says "starter set" --> Is this really the case? Will I, as a beginner, quickly understand how to use it? - What kind of lamps are these bulbs compatible with? Do I have to pay attention to anything special? - I would also like to have such intelligent, if possible, coloured light around the TV, which will hang on the wall, and also around the bookshelf. Do you know of any good solutions? Greetings

Hello Eroni23

Setting up Philips Hue is really easy. Everything you need is included in the starter set. However, depending on what you want to do, I would advise against it.

1. the starter set contains the Hue Bridge. This is absolutely necessary so that your future switches and possibly tablets, phones and other HUE devices can communicate with each other.
2. the supplied bulbs with E27

sockets can only be installed in lamps with such sockets. Newer modern homes have almost no such sockets anywhere. And hence my objection that this starter set is suitable for everyone.

I think Hue only makes sense as a supplement to the normal home installation. As you already wrote, as indirect lighting by the bookshelf, perhaps behind the TV.
It is also nice to have a cheap IKEA lamp with E27 sockets on a small table, for example, to give the rooms a little more atmosphere.

I think the HUE Lily and Cala in the garden are great. For example, coupled with a motion detector.

I rather recommend the way to get only one HUE Bridge via Ricardo or Tutti. You can get it unused for just under 30 to 40 euros and first of all a HUE Lighstripe+ (definitely buy the + version) not the cheaper LED strip. And test the possibilities with it.

If you see the first successes and are suddenly gripped by HUE fever, there are no limits to your future ideas.
