Hello, many people write that you should no longer buy it because of the subscription changes. WHAT ARE THE BEST ALTERNATIVES?

Hello,
I use this product through HomeAssistant and it works great and I don't have an active subscription because HomeAssistant drives the device through its IP address and APIs, but it's true that some rumours say that the company would have some problems indeed. For my part, if I have to buy another one in the future, I'll certainly change brands.

Hello, I haven't followed all this, and I've never paid a barker to use the myStrom.

Personally, I have a very good experience with Eve products. The equivalent (with a consumption meter) would be their "EVE Energy" which is also compatible with Thread and Matter. I haven't tried it, so it's up to you.

If it's just a connected socket (without metering) that you're looking for, the Hue one works very well and easily (if you already have that system).

What's the problem with the plans? Mystrom sells additional services on a plan, you can buy them or not. That doesn't detract from the function of the smart plug. You can also integrate them into Home Assistant or Apple's HomeKit without a plan (if you like that...). The additional services in the plan weren't available when I bought the plugs, so I don't have a problem with them being offered for a fee now.

Apart from the payment, you have to ask yourself why a socket has to be in the cloud. Why do I have to go through an external supplier's cloud service if I want to switch a socket in my house? I know it's the trend, but you don't have to go along with it. Fortunately, you can also address the MyStrom locally without using the cloud. But with HA or HomeKit, you don't need that either and then you don't need a plan.
