Yes, this is possible without problems, but the resolution of this monitor is quite poor. For better picture quality, I recommend a 4K UHD monitor and then using it with scaling with slightly less resolution for razor-sharp texts.

Here would be my suggestion, you don't notice the 27 inch at all after a few days but you can display much more content on the screen. price-wise it's not a big surcharge, but the picture will be much sharper (4 x more pixels this display has).
