Hello everyone I have a Yamaha MusicCast Viny1500 turntable and would like to buy this cartridge for better sound quality. Does it fit and which of the three do you recommend buying? I'm not a great technician, but I still have the confidence to fit a cartridge. Happy holidays Eric
Hello. I am very satisfied with the sound quality of the 2M blue. The only problem I had was that the plastic housing rested too low on the record and consequently scratched it.
I am also very happy with the Blue!
I fitted the 2M Blue to my Teak TN-4D turntable a few months ago (see my pictures in my review). I wanted to leave the supplied Oyster MM cartridge from SUMIKO as a spare. I therefore tried a new head shell from Ortofon. This resulted in problems with the height because the tone cell/needle was too high and only lightly touched the grooves of the discs. That's why I had to shim the 2M Blue 3mm. It is important that the head shell corresponds to the Technics standard and that the tonearm fits. Check the shape of the head shell on the MusicCast Viny1500 and then align the tone cell with a template when mounting (you can find the templates on the Internet to print out).
Good afternoon, Eric. Is it suitable and which of the three would you recommend buying?
There will be no problems with installation. For Yamaha MusicCast Viny1500 turntable this is the optimal choice. I had the opportunity to listen to all models (Red, Blu, Black). But if there is no way to immediately compare its, then you very quickly get used to a specific sound. I should note that the more expensive the head, the better it plays old (sawed) vinyl. Buy Blue with confidence, you won't be disappointed. Good luck
