Hello everyone, I have concerns about the precise tracking of movements. I can't imagine that a purely visual recording of the movement on the VR glasses can be more precise than the measurement/calculation with Lighthouse sensors. The goggles themselves are still fine, but how is the tracking of the controllers done? It would be cool if Digitec could organise a test afternoon in Wohlen or something, so that you can compare the different technologies directly. =)
Until then, unfortunately, it is out of the question for me. I want the most precise tracking and a high VR resolution.... đ«
According to the online reviews, the tracking of the controllers takes place via the illuminated rings on the controllers themselves. The cameras on the headset track these rings accordingly to determine the position of the controllers. The whole thing (and more) is described in more detail on the following page => https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing...
I recommend that every buyer first click through the net and read reviews. What I have read on Reddit so far is rather bad than good. With a rating of 3 out of 5 points on "the Verge" (a good source, except for PC build guides), I think it's too little for a device costing almost 700.
