Even if I extrapolate the installed components, 65W from the power supply unit is really tight. 2 Ram modules 4Watt each. One Nvme memory 6Watt. An SSD via Sata another 5Watt. Only the processor 28Watt. USB mouse 1Watt. USB keyboard 1 Watt. That leaves 16 watts from the 65 watt power supply. If you add a USB-C drive that consumes 5V and 3A, I suspect the power supply will start pulsing, which is worse than an oversized power supply that delivers the correct voltage.

I wouldn't try that, otherwise you'll burn out the circuits in the NUC that are designed for this power supply.
Try to solve the problem by connecting a second USB-C power supply directly to the connected peripherals, which usually have a USB-C supply input.
