Question about Samsung 870 EVO
Hello Community, I am planning to replace my too small SSD with a Samsung 870 EVO. Does the new SSD have to be connected to a 6 Gb/s SATA3 port or is the 3 Gb/s also sufficient? Which clone programme can you recommend (freeware)? Thanks in advance...

In theory, the SSD will only work at about 300mb/s on the SATA2 port (SATA3 can do about 600mb/s). It works, but some performance is given away. I can't say for sure whether you really notice a difference in practice.

For the Samsung SSD 870 EVO SATA III 2.5 inch MZ-77E250B/EU, your device requires a SATA 6 Gb/s interface, although the SSD is also compatible with a SATA 3 Gb/s & SATA 1.5 Gb/s interface, as well as a free mounting bay in the 2.5 inch form factor.
