The device is not intended as a booster with a maximum charging current of 5 amps. However, it is perfectly suitable for charging the 12-volt battery over several hours. Many electric cars also have a BMS ( battery management system ) in use for the starter battery, which first expects a minimum state of charge before the rest of the system starts up again or releases the charging connection for the traction battery. Just be patient.....
