hello can I use this adapter to connect a screen via VGA in a USB plug which is 3.0 but which doesnt support video output? (my 3.0 UBS plug doesnt have the symbol near the USB SS which indicates display port). Thank you in advance,

That shouldn't matter, as long you have USB 3.0, you should be good to go.
