Question about Apple Thunderbolt 3 zu

Hello, can I use this adapter and a Thunderbolt 2 cable to take my old Macbook Pro Mid 2012 with Thunderbolt 1 connector into target mode (hard disk mode) with the new iMac 24" M1? Who knows if this actually works? Best thanks

I have not yet been able to use the Thunderbolt 1 connection with a modern hard drive with this adapter - even with a power-supplying hub in between. Have since put the experiment on hold until I find more information on it.
