Hello all. How does it look if I set certain games in 2k resolution to get a higher FPS. I mean games like Mass effect 3, Ark, Dark and light, Star Citizen..some only 30-60 fps.... not to mention some future shooter games. Sure I could turn down the graphic details ....shadows, resolution scaling ect ect....but if you don't want to do that....-- what does it look like to play with a 4K monitor in 2k resolution??? My system is top up to date: 8700K, 1080TI, 16GB@3600Mhz Ram ect.......thanks in advance :)

The monitor is more or less 3K, if you go down to 2K you have bars on the left and right of the screen. The next small step here is with 1080p and then it doesn't look so great on the monitor.

I don't think it should be a problem if you lower the screen resolution to, on a 4k monitor. On the contrary, you should have even more FPS. However, if you change the resolution from e.g. 4k on a FullHD monitor, this could lead to lags and disturbances.
