Do I need to install a driver? I am looking for a docking station for my personal computer (Dell Inspiration 7381) and my work computer (HP Elitebook). I can't install any software on my work pc.
Both PCs support Thunderbolt 3. Does it matter if I should buy a docking station with Thunderbolt 3?

I also have an HP laptop from work and it worked without installation.
