I think I had the same problem. I had to install another keyboard in the Playstore. Swiftkey, Typewise etc. I'm still looking for the right one.

It's very simple, open the keyboard so that it's visible, and go to the Settings icon that looks like a cogwheel, and go to Settings and then Language and then German and deactivate the others, and you're done.
