Has anyone been able to get the autofocus to work on a Nikon Z with FTZ adapter using a firmware update?

Never had any problems with the Z6, it always found the focus without any problems. Not below the close-up limit?

I have the Nikon Z 6 and have never had any problems with the autofocus of this lens. Do you have an F-mount camera to test it against?

With my Nikon Z7, the autofocus with the Sigma 105 was and is no problem. In the meantime, the Z7 is on firmware C 3.40 LF 1.00. I had bought the lens for an SLR at the time and rarely use it with the Z7 - at best for macro shots and also for portraits.
