Good evening, I see that the new 2nd version has just been released, so it's more expensive. I see that the multiview has been improved ok but not much info on it. How is it really better and is the price difference justified. Basically, does it fix all the "little problems of version 1" (if it does, not nice for those who bought version 1)? Thank you in advance for your help. Ps and as version 1 is a bit of a bargain, should we rush out and buy it?
At today's price, to which you have to add a guarantee for a total of 5 years, which I think is compulsory for this type of product, what do you think? should we rush? I've seen videos which say that the pixel density is too low for the size, is this a problem for home office? I currently have a 43 inch smart monitor from samsung and I'm happy with it but only 60 hertz. I have a gamer pc with an rtx 3080 ti. 64 gb ram ddrr 4 and an i9-12900k. What do you think for a use 50 percent gaming, 50 percent home office.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to go and see one in person, which would be a great help in making a decision, and I can't afford to miss out a second time.
PS: I bought the 43-inch smart monitor before my gaming PC. Obviously all the games run in 4k at more than 60 frames per second. the thing is that for my impression everything is fluid. is this due to the gaming mode of the smartmonitor or the type of game I'm playing. I don't know. I'm lost on this one because I've never been able to test a screen at more than 60 frames per second on my pc.
The new second generation monitor is exactly the same monitor, same panel, same technology as the first Ark 55, only the One Connect Box (the box to which the monitor/panel is connected and receives power and video signal) has changed and the monitor can, as you rightly said, now Multi View also via all HDMI inputs and it has a KVM switch so that in addition to the monitor input signal, the connected keyboard and mouse can also be switched via USB and a DP port.
If Multi View is not important to you, you can also buy the first Ark 55, which is technically and visually exactly the same and now very attractively priced.
Just for reference. Samsung has launched this series of curved Ark 55s as a test to see how they are received. The software of the monitor is still immature and we have already had to send ours back for repair 3 times because it always switched itself off after a certain time and you could only reactivate it by pulling the mains plug and reconnecting it to the power supply. We suspect it has something to do with the new firmware as we didn't have this problem before. However, it could also be a hardware defect but Samsung has already replaced almost all parts including the panel and the problem could not be solved.
You can also find users on the Internet and on Amazon who have the problem of "switching off/crashing by itself", but there are also many users who are very satisfied, which is why we assume a software problem.
In short. It is a very good monitor for employees (depending on use), gaming and TV (Apple, streaming Netflix films) with immature software and teething problems.
