There are different possibilities. Should it be a tripod or a monopod? What will the lens be used for? Wildlife with sitting? Sports?
For wildlife, a monopod may be more practical than a tripod, depending. For tripods, I would choose one of the more stable variety, e.g. this one

and either a panhead or a gimbal

mount. A normal ball head is usually not very practical for such superteles.
