Now I have bought a second monitor and wonder if I can connect the two monitors with a DisplayPort.

I don't know if I understood your question correctly, but this monitor can be controlled via DisplayPort as well as HDMI.

What is not possible is to operate two monitors with one and the same cable on one DisplayPort. For that, the monitor would have to support daisy chaining, which it does not.
