Founder's edition in USD costs 699, this Asus card for 649. Actually, it should be cheaper than the Founder's edition, but we have to spend CHF 899 for it?!?! Outrageous...
Digitec is no longer the cheapest provider. Take a look at toppreise.ch, where gtx 1080 FEs are available from Fr. 790.00...
The Founders Edition, is a card with the reference design from Nvidia, so more or less Standard Edition.
This card has a custom pcb, so the card has a differently designed board and is much more powerful than the standard version. Why? Because instead of about 180 to 200 watts, you can draw up to 300 watts of power from the power supply. More watt = different voltages, frequencies and currents. This card is also currently the card with the highest base clock, if I'm not mistaken.
Where does this card cost $649? I have also read about it but haven't found a store that sells them at all.
So wait and see, it should be available on 4 June.
compare the values of the and the founders... the price is super....
So where in the US does it cost so little and is in stock? Comparing prices between countries is not fair, labour and operating costs are unequal. You can't compare different versions, there are Founders Edition, 8G and O8g versions, they all cost different amounts. Other shops also add shipping costs! Likewise, a price comparison of an item that is no longer in stock and has an unknown delivery time is generally nonsensical.
The map is not even available yet and people are already getting artificially upset. Delightful :D
By the way, to defend the price.... Yes it is expensive, but we are talking about a 16nm (nanometre) architecture. They may have huge rejects and the customer pays for that, but it's the same in pharma. Hard-to-produce items and active ingredients with potentially high rejects are guaranteed to be more expensive!
I've ordered it when it was announced in mid-June, is it possible to expect a longer delay?
I've ordered a new one and it's not sure if it's going to take much longer.
I would like to know if it is possible to use a gtx 1080 card and a gtx 980ti card, also from different brands?
Thank you for your reply.
In the USA it is sold without taxes, therefore the small price, you have forgotten something...
At the moment you still pay the "best graphics card in the world" surcharge (worldwide) as soon as the 1080 TI is out, the 1080 will already drop...
