QUESTION 1: Why does this lamp have a battery (I thought that's what the crank was for). +++ QUESTION 2: Can the crank be turned in both directions?
1: The crank charges the battery, which in turn feeds the light source. This way you can light up without cranking.
2: In the northern hemisphere you have to crank strictly to the right (and vice versa in the southern hemisphere) because of the magnetic field.
I also thought that there were emergency torches that worked without a battery, only with a crank. Emergency light and possibly spare bulb (illuminant, at that time).
2 Is this answer correct or is it all just a show of ignorance? Right-handed and left-handed? Watches could only be wound in one direction? Fact!
