Does this work with ipadOS? Can connect but inputs are not registered by the ipad? Any ideas?

Yes, it is possible via the Accessibility Settings. At least since Xbox and PS controllers are supported.
The controller must be paired there. For me, it then appears as "Dualshock" and works perfectly with games that support controllers.

No, it is not compatible with Ipad, it appears on the official website.
