Question about HP G2

Does this docking station also work with the Surface Pro (5th gen., model 1796 i7), which does not have a USB-C port but is connected via an adapter cable? The docking station works fine with the business notebook (HP), but not with my personal Surface Pro, for which I ordered an adapter cable (https://www.apfelkiste.ch/surface-book-usb-c-ladekabel-pd-12-5cm-schwarz.html). The Surface is charged, but there is no connection with the docking station or the monitors are not recognised. How can I connect the Surface Pro including the USB-C adapter to the docking station?
