Does this camera have a memory card limit? I mean is it possible that it can't record when a 64gb micro sd is inserted? I have heard of such exceptions.

You must mean older models. I have 64GB and it works fine. 128GB is also supported. More may not work.
You can also record longer than is possible with 4GB, but then it's multiple videos.
