I can't say anything about the gestures. I am not a Mac specialist. So I have to be careful when I say that osx is not an OS that is designed for touch screens. Windows is different. You can see this in the fact that the Mac Books don't have a touchscreen. The Surface from MS can be used completely as a tablet. I only need the Mac for recording and touch is not important there. At least for me. For gestures you might need the driver you mentioned. This will "build" these gestures into osx. As I said, enjoy with caution, I haven't clarified it further. But the important thing is that touch works and if a driver for the gestures is needed, at least something is available.

No, the 4k monitor does not need a special driver for the touch screen. So you can make a MACBook touch capable. I put some pictures in my cloud.

Shows the monitor and basically the touch function on OSX. Video isn't great, but shows what it's supposed to show.
You can get the monitor from me. I had to do it myself because no one sells it in Switzerland and I really wanted a 4k monitor, especially for the Surface. But it also looks very good and elegant on the Macbook.

Yes, it should work. I need it on the Surface, but I've also had it on the Macbook 2020. But I'd have a better monitor for the Macbook, because the HDMI resolution isn't that great. I use a portable monitor with 4k resolution on my Macbook. It's also in the 16 inch range, but without an internal battery (power supply via USB C, from Macbook), but the monitor stands better because it's equipped with a hinge. More stable overall.
