As far as I know, it has standard protection against overcharging, but only during use. However, there is no protection against self-discharge if you leave it unused for a long time. My advice is to recharge it at least once or twice a month, if you're not using it. This is to avoid deep self-discharge. And of course, don't leave it plugged in to charge continuously.
