Does the Bose QuietComfort Ultra have the aptX-Lossless codec or not? the internet sometimes says so, others say it was added via a firmware update.

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra supports the aptX Adaptive Codec, but not the aptX Lossless Codec. There is no indication that the aptX Lossless codec has been added through a firmware update.

I have Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra Headphones and when connected to my phone, I can see Aptx Lossless codec. Keep in mind you have to have one of few phones supporting the codec

According to aptx.com and statements from Bose Support, Bose QC Ultra supports aptX-Lossless. In addition, the Qualcomm audio processor used is aptX-Lossless capable. Therefore, yes these headphones can be aptX-Lossless!
