Does the beamer have a built-in TV turner? Or do I need something in addition to watch TV normally?

No, it doesn't have a TV tuner. It has a few apps like Netflix, but I've never tried them. I use the TV with Apple TV and have a Teleboy subscription for TV on the Apple TV.
