Question about Corsair RM850x *2018*
Does it still make sense to buy a 2018 model in 2020 or would it be better to go for a newer fashion? I am planning to use it to replace a defective 750W power supply from 2014.

I wouldn't worry too much about the power supply. There should be hardly any differences between the 2018 and 2020 models.
