No, according to our information, it is not compatible.

Received today, mixed conclusion:

Compatibility with MacBook Pro: Partially:

Positive: one has a new power supply (the power supply is recognised).
Negative: the part only works when connected to power.
USB: Works partly (mouse, USB key), partly not (hard disk USB 3.0).
Audio-out: Does not work.
HDMI: works with power.
VGA: not tested
SD: not tested
Mic: Not tested

Another negative: The dock's power supply is based on a different connector, so you can't just get through with USB-C (so you can't take the charger from the Macbook pro to use the dock).

Conclusion: OK as a dock (permanently installed), only moderately suitable as a travel companion.
