does anyone know the name of the round power plug that plugs into the monitor? or does anyone know of an extension for it? should be about 2m long. thanks.

There could be an extension, but I think it would be the wrong solution. If I were you, I would replace the current power cable (or mains cable) completely with one of the length you need. They are available in lengths of up to 15m.
