Question about Aukey Pb-T10

I believe, but am not sure, that this can only work if you use the "normal" usb-usbc converter from apple with a "double" usb cable. I.e. a cable that is plugged into the powerbank and at the same time into the usb-usbc part, so it has 2 connections to the outside. or you buy a "big" adapter that you can plug into the mac book air, which has other connections like hdmi in addition to the desired usb.
