Question about Sony WH-1000XM5
Does anyone have any recommendations for an external jack microphone on these headphones? Idea: If there is a noisy environment, simply plug in a suitable jack microphone and filter out the background noise better. Is that possible?

No, this is not possible. The WH-1000XM5 only uses its internal microphones for active noise cancellation and for voice
noise cancellation and for voice recording during phone calls. The 3.5 mm jack connection on the headphones
is used exclusively as an audio input (e.g. for wired connection to a smartphone, PC or aeroplane adapter).
An external jack microphone cannot be used via this and is neither recognised by the headphones nor integrated into the noise cancellation or speech processing.
