Does anyone else have the problem with the "SmartImage settings" menu that keeps appearing? http://extreme.pcgameshardware.de/monitore/441879-philips-briliance-288p-osd-smartimage-pop-up.html
This problem also occurs with my monitor. Just after 25 months, i.e. the warranty has just expired. It certainly has nothing to do with the graphics card. The menu is called up and generated on the monitor itself. I can't say exactly what the cause is. Logically, however, it could be contamination on the housing or a delay on the surface above the keys. In any case, I have cleaned them.
I have had the monitor for a few months. After about 1 month, the problem with the ODS menu popping up again and again occurred. At first only sporadically, now after 1-2 hours of operation every few seconds. Yesterday I played around with the settings, but it seems to help only temporarily. After a while it occurs again. Must go to Philips Service.
I have the same problem with the SmartImage menu. The menu appears as if by magic and disappears again after a few seconds. Sometimes nothing happens for an hour and sometimes it ticks continuously. My monitor is also connected via HDMI. In addition, I often can't open the menu at all when I press the "buttons". Have you been able to solve the problem?
Well, the post in the forum is actually not mine, I didn't have enough characters in the question to explain it exactly.
It doesn't seem to be a problem with the configuration of the DP/HDMI/Graka etc. but an internal hardware problem of the monitor.
Like the capacitive button that opens the SmartImage Menu is not working properly. There is no discernible pattern, the menu pops up and disappears again at random intervals.
I have already made such capacitive buttons myself with the Arduno & Teensy and know how many influences are involved.
Thanks anyway for the answers, I will contact Philips.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 ti via hdmi with win 10.
Nothing installed, just switch it on and in the monitor menu set IMPORTANT to hdmi 2.0 to get 60 hearts.
No known problems, unfortunately only 1 hdmi connection.
Still need an adapter ...
Hi bushorsimon
I recently installed the same monitor. Configuration: Windows 10, connected via DVI-D cable to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970. I have also installed the driver supplied, just in case. Works flawlessly. 4K films a treat.
I could not reproduce your problem in any way. Maybe you missed a setting that is not compatible with your graphics card. Your post merely states that you have 42,000 figures. What the meaning of this statement has to do with your problem is beyond me.
Kind regards

i have had 2 of the described philips monitors connected to two geforce 980 grakas at the same time for 3 months; the problem with the smartimage settings has never occurred in continuous operation. even the promised 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz is no problem under win 10. you only have to select DisplayPort 1.2 in the OSD menu.
