No charging by battery pack, now that puzzles me. Anyone have any idea why this is / could be a problem?

with cheaper usb-hubs, usb-splitters and Y-cables (distributors from one to several ubs) it can be that if you have too many devices connected, the distributor can't provide enough power and this may not be healthy for devices, in this case the watch. maybe the power can also be a problem with certain battery packs
