Do I understand correctly that Heos does not support AirPlay?
It is so highly praised and then something like this... It might only be possible to adapt the software, as Denon has done with some AVRs.

How do you do it? Maybe somehow a workaround with the AVR or Express?

You can stream your music at any time via the HEOS app (https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/heos-by-denon/id843129434). No AirPlay is necessary. You can also run other music services directly on HEOS. It's best to download the app and start it in demo mode. Then you can see what the app can do.
