Do I need a Wi-Fi network for this? What happens when I switch on the lamps with the light switch on the wall? Do they light up in the last saved intensity?

The old light switch on the wall acts as the main switch for the power supply. Switching it off and on results in a reset. If you always leave it on and use the remote control to switch it on and off, the last setting is retained. If you do not want to use WLAN, you should buy a set without a bridge. If you want to use the functionality of the Hue system, you simply need Wi-Fi and a bridge. In my case, I have also integrated the motion detector.

The latest generation can be controlled via Bluetooth, but then it does not have the full range of functions. With Wi-Fi, however, you still need the bridge.
You can also program the switch-on brightness with the app, but as far as I know, you would need the bridge.
