@digitec but also to anyone who can help. I have a newer Lenovo laptop with docking station, USB-C, 2x HDMI and 2x Displayport. I would like to have bought 3 of these monitors for a triple setup. How can I use the 3 monitors as an extended display even though the dock only has 2 outputs? What do I need and how can I do that? Daisy chain is out of the question as the display ports will be on the Hackintosh with RX6800XT. Thanks for the help.
The limit is probably the processor of the notebook, because the internal display also counts as a monitor and then there can also be problems with the refresh rate if more than one monitor has to do 60 Hz. Many docking solutions can do 4K at 60 Hz with one monitor or two monitors at 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. So it depends on the CPU and also on the possibilities of the docking solution.
Instead of three screens with 2560 x 1440 pixels, I would take two with a 4K UHD solution with 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution, which brings more image in better sharpness, which works very well especially with text. Or alternatively, choose two 34-inch widescreen 3440 x 1440 pixel displays instead of three with 2560 x 1440 pixels.
