Did an happy owner of this amazing machine succeed in getting a proper single shot using the stock single shot basket ? I didn't despte many trials. Is there a recommendation for an alternate single shot basket ?

I use always the double one, The single one for me is to weak amount of coffee. At least I prefer always a double expresso if I am going to switch on the machine.

The only thing I can recommend you to buy is the Lelit PLA580V Bottomless Portafilter  + Normcore 58.5mm Puck Strainer. You will make expressos the proper way and you will feel like a real Barista.

Mine came with proper IMS baskets - no need to buy new ones.

A single shot is too small for me, but every time I tried the single basket it came out fine. Make sure to weigh and time your shots to get the grind and dose exactly right.

All single strainers are useless, you don't need to buy another one. Take the one for the double espresso and let out two single espresso. If you empty out one espresso, you will lose about 5 grams of coffee powder, but you will have a consistent coffee.
The single sieve requires approx. 14 grams for a single espresso and the double sieve approx. 19 grams for two espressos (depending on the coffee beans).
The single sieve does not provide enough resistance for a proper espresso due to the limited space for powder.
